How VideoOptimize works
VideoOptimize is a privacy-first video compressor that runs in your browser using FFmpeg WebAssembly. Your videos are not uploaded, stored, or processed on our servers.
Select your video
Choose any video from your device — MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, or MKV. The file stays on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to a remote server.
Set your target size
Specify how many megabytes you want the finished file to be. VideoOptimize calculates a bitrate aimed at that target so you control the final size.
Encode in your browser
FFmpeg WebAssembly runs locally on your device. You get live progress and an optimized MP4 when encoding finishes — no cloud queue and no server storage.
Download the result
Save the compressed video directly from the browser. No account is required and no copy of your video is kept on our servers.
Why process in the browser?
- Privacy: video bytes stay on your device during compression.
- No cloud storage risk: we have no copy of your file to leak or retain.
- No multi-GB upload wait: skip sending huge files to a remote encoder first.
- You control the size: set megabytes that match email or platform limits.
